🥚This past week, STEM 1 students took on the Egg Drop Challenge for their final project of the year! This group has absolutely loved hands-on projects and it has been a joy tailoring our projects to their interests this year 🤓 I look forward to STEM 2 with them in August - have a great summer, y’all!

👨🏼🎓 STEM 2 celebrated our graduating Life Skills seniors on Thursday - Jayden and Mallie. Sadly Mallie couldn’t join us, but we still partied for her 💜 This gathering was also our last with our friends for the year 🥲 Watching relationships build and love grow among these young people was a blessing to witness!
Special shout out to Mandy Haws for making the most deliciously, beautiful cookies for our event!

🐯 Fort Gibson’s 2026 Special Olympics was just that…SPECIAL! Watching these students compete today in events they’ve practiced and prepared for was such a joy. And witnessing the camaraderie between my 8th graders and our competitors was powerful 🤍While STEM students encouraged, cheered for, and assisted our friends, our friends sought out STEM students they have grown close with this year for pictures, high-fives, and hugs!
🙏🏼Thank you to our administration, teachers, staff, coaches, parents, volunteers, and competitors for allowing us the opportunity to be a part of this amazing event!
👕 One final shout out to our very own Boston Tapp who designed our shirts this year - I’d say he did a ROARsome job!
❤️Until next year!🖤

This Friday, our students are poised to deliver an outstanding Special Olympics Robotics event, built from scratch by STEM 2 students who not only crafted the competition field but also empowered their friends in Mrs. Hackworth's class - and this year, they're thrilled to welcome Mrs. Ford's students to the roster!

These almost freshman have been busy getting ready for August (it’s never too early!):
🌈 The Rainbow Lab allowed them to practice proper use of various lab equipment and the importance of reading/following directions.
📏 The Density Lab taught them how to calculate the density of regular and irregularly shaped objects.
🥇Metric Olympics gave them practice in using the correct metric units while they took measurements for distance and mass.

6th Grade STEM used TinkerCAD to design their own keychains a few weeks ago and I just finished getting them printed 🤪 I always love seeing what these kiddos come up with, and I know some will be making pretty special gifts 😉
