🗓️Get ready for the solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024!

Check out the link below for a Google-style map where you can find any location within the Zone of Totality and click to get the times.

🕰️ Remember, once you're about 20 miles East of Ft. Smith on I-40 or South of Poteau, OK, you're in the Total Eclipse Zone. The times on the map are in UT (Universal Time), so subtract 5 hours for Central Time.Plan ahead if you're traveling on Eclipse Day – allow double your travel time for extra traffic and pack drinks and snacks for the return trip.

📌 In Tulsa, there are eclipse events at Guthrie Greens and the Discovery Lab that you can check out!

Tulsa will experience a 95% Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024, starting at 12:30 PM, reaching maximum at 1:49 PM, and ending at 3:07 PM.

Watch the Moon's shadow as it races from Oregon to Texas on October 14, 2023! Join us at the Broken Arrow Voyage Solar System Walkway and watch “The Ring of Fire” with us any time from 10:23am - 1:25pm.

The Astronomy Club of Tulsa will be there and will have eclipse viewers for $2 until supplies run out.

***Bring your own lawn chair!

Please note: There is road construction on Albany, but the Walkway will be open. Parking is at the sun side entry (west) by Creekwood and by Pluto (east) at the High School.

During an annular solar eclipse, the apparent size of the Moon’s disk is slightly smaller than the apparent size of the Sun’s disk. Therefore, only the outer edge of the Sun remains visible and the Sun appears as a brilliant ring if you are inside the path of annular solar eclipse. This is an otherworldly sight often called a “ring of fire”.
