Despite time off from school due to the winter weather, the Jr. High Quiz Bowl 2A North Conference tournament is still being played this Saturday at Cotter High School. We are awaiting word as the start time could change from 9am to 10am. I will notify team members as soon as I have confirmation from the host. Be studying, watch some trivia shows, and be ready to play this weekend!

Good morning, students, parents, and friends! We have made it through Week 1. It was full of schedule changes, meeting new students, seeing old friends, and... learning about lab safety and scientific instruments. Excited for Week 2 as we prepare to dive into our Biology, Physical, Science and Environmental Science content. Quiz Bowl Information coming soon!

Tomorrow is the Jr High Quiz Bowl Regional Tournament at Riverside High School! The students have spent months preparing for this moment and are ready to face the challenge.

Jr. High Quiz Bowl Player Spotlight:
7th Grader Gavin Williams
Gavin has been a member of our Quiz Bowl program since 5th grade. His enthusiasm for the game is evident in every match, whether he is at the table in a tournament or playing the role of antagonist/opposing team member during practice. Gavin hasn't let being a 7th grader hold him back, establishing himself as a solid bench player and occasional starter. We're excited to see what the future holds for this young man!

Jr. High Quiz Bowl Player Spotlight:
Freshman Makaelynn Wood
Makaelynn joined Quiz Bowl this year and has made an immediate impact as our captain during the Bonus and Lightning Rounds. She masterfully manages the "discussion" among her teammates, determining the correct answer to give for the clues given in each category. And if you've met those boys, that's A LOT of info to decipher in a very limited amount of time. She has been a wonderful addition to our team, bringing a positive attitude and energy to every practice and competition.
