Congratulations to Rutrice Do Quental, a rising junior and member of New Heights Varsity Basketball, also known as Phoenix Ladies, on her remarkable performance at the 2026 Hoop Group Showcase League Girls Championships.

Joseph Santoliquito of City Basketball Love wrote, "She was an incredible athlete who was able to change direction on a dime. She finished with 11 points in the Showstoppers’ 60-44 victory over the PA Royals HGSL 17U team. She always played with her head up. "

A Summer That Inspires Academic Growth and Hope

This summer, rising 9th and 10th graders from New Heights engaged in a transformative two-week academic and enrichment program hosted at Massasoit Community College (MCC) and Bridgewater State University (BSU). This immersive experience offered our scholars a unique opportunity to taste college life firsthand while cultivating the critical skills necessary for postsecondary success.

We want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to our dedicated New Heights educators, alongside the exceptional faculty and staff at MCC, BSU, and Stonehill College, who dedicated their time to ensure that the 2026 New Heights Summer Bridge Program was both academically enriching and socially fulfilling.

Finally, to our families, thank you for your unwavering partnership and commitment to your scholar’s educational journey. You are the cornerstone of our community, and we are deeply grateful for your trust as we walk this path toward college success together.

Our Summer Bridge Program is in full swing, and our rising 9th and 10th graders are making the most of this incredible opportunity.

For the past two weeks, our scholars have been immersed in academic and enrichment programs at Massasoit Community College (MCC) and Bridgewater State University (BSU), experiencing college life firsthand while building the skills they need to succeed.

Today at MCC, our rising 9th graders stepped into the world of media production, creating their own TV shows, radio broadcasts, and podcasts. Through hands-on learning, they are developing creativity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills that will serve them well in college and beyond.

At New Heights, our mission is simple: prepare every student for college. Period. Experiences like our Summer Bridge Program strengthen our students’ academic foundation, increase their confidence, and help them envision themselves thriving on a college campus. By exposing our scholars to college environments early, we are empowering them to dream bigger, aim higher, and build a future filled with opportunity.

We are incredibly proud of our students for embracing this journey of learning and growth.
