π Accepted Students Day at BHSON! π
Yesterday evening, Brockton Hospital School of Nursing was filled with excitement as we welcomed a packed room of accepted students for our *2026 Accepted Students Day*!
Future students had the opportunity to hear directly from our Peer Mentors and Student Nurses Association (SNA) members during an engaging student panel. They shared their experiences at BHSON, offered advice for success, answered questions, and spoke about their exciting future nursing career plans. School administrators discussed important program requirements and next steps for beginning their nursing journey. Throughout the evening, attendees toured our campus and explored our simulation labs, where faculty members Lisa Whiffen and Pearl Cunningham provided interactive demonstrations and hands-on insight into the unique learning experiences that help prepare BHSON students for clinical practice.
Thank you to everyone who joined us! We loved meeting so many future nurses and sharing what makes BHSON such a special place to learn, grow, and succeed.
π The future of nursing is bright, and we are excited to walk this journey with you!

π Last week we celebrated Nurseβs Week.
π This week we recognize Mental Health Awareness Week.
At BHSON, these two go hand in hand.
Nursing is built on compassion, resilience, empathy, and heart β but caring for others also means remembering to care for ourselves. Mental health matters in healthcare, and so does support, rest, connection, and kindness.
To our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and nurses everywhere: thank you for the care you give and the difference you make every day.
You matter too. πΏπ

πβοΈ BHSON Students Making an Impact on the National Stage βοΈπ
We are incredibly proud of our BHSON NSNA students who recently attended the National Student Nursesβ Association (NSNA) Annual Convention in Houston, Texas alongside faculty NSNA representative Karen Shaw!
Over five inspiring days, students from across the country gathered to learn, network, attend educational seminars, explore future nursing opportunities, and collaborate on important issues impacting healthcare and patient education while exploring a vibrant city.
Our students presented a powerful resolution focused on improving how young girls are educated about menstruation, advocating for more effective, supportive, and informed approaches to menstrual health education.
We are thrilled to share that their resolution was ACCEPTED by fellow nursing students at the convention! π
This achievement reflects not only their professionalism and leadership, but also their passion for advocacy, education, and improving healthcare experiences for future generations.
We are so proud to see BHSON students using their voices to create meaningful change β both inside and outside the classroom.
Congratulations to our students and thank you to Karen Shaw for supporting and guiding them through this incredible experience!

π§©π April is Autism Awareness Month ππ§©
At BHSON, we recognize the importance of understanding, compassion, and inclusive care β not just this month, but every day.
In the medical field, awareness of autism is essential to providing safe, respectful, and patient-centered care. Every individual experiences the world differently, and as future nurses, learning how to adapt communication, support sensory needs, and approach care with empathy makes all the difference.
This beautiful board β created by our students β is a reminder of that mission:
π Accept.
π Understand.
β€οΈ Love.
We are so proud of our students for using their voices and creativity to highlight such an important message and for continuing to grow into nurses who lead with both skill and heart.
Together, we make a difference π

π₯π Clinical Learning in Action at Crystal Springs ππ₯
Dean Jean had the opportunity to visit our first-year students, alongside their instructor Colleen, at Crystal Springs School, where they presented case studies on their pediatric patients β and they did an INCREDIBLE job! π
Their presentations showcased not only strong clinical knowledge, but also the compassion, thoughtfulness, and dedication that define nursing at BHSON.
We are so proud to see our students growing in confidence and skill as they care for and advocate for their patients π
A special thank you to Crystal Springs for being such a valued clinical partner and for providing a meaningful environment where our students can learn, grow, and make an impact.
