Welcome to the Gilmore School for the 2023-2024 School Year!
We are excited to welcome back our returning students and thrilled to meet our new students and families. We strive to make Gilmore School a place where all students can thrive and feel at home. We are committed to creating a school culture of excellence, respect, and inclusion. We look forward to welcoming everyone to our school!
Please read for some pertinent information to help the year start smoothly. All students should arrive to school on time, in full uniform, and ready to learn. We also encourage parents to stay informed about school events and their child's progress. Finally, if you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
• Start date:
Grades 1 to 5 - September 6, 2023
Pre-K and Kindergarten, September 13, 2023.
Please text YES to 67587 to receive messages from Brockton Public Schools regarding critical information including updates and weather-related messages.
Please place the school calendar in a safe place (your refrigerator is an ideal place) because all the key dates such as early dismissal dates, holidays, and vacations are listed on the calendar.
• Uniform Policy
Navy Blue Polo Shirt
If you choose to wear a long sleeve shirt under short sleeves it must be white or navy. A white or navy cardigan or a zip-up jacket may be worn over the Polo shirt.
Khaki Bottoms (shorts, skorts, skirts, pants, no leggings). If you choose to wear tights under skirts or skorts please make sure they are white or navy.
• Arrival and Dismissal
Kindergarten to 5 - Arrival begins at 8:45 a.m. Students must be at school by 9:00 a.m. when instruction starts.
Pre-K - Morning Session: 9:00am Afternoon Session: 12:45pm
K- 5 Dismissal: 3:15 pm
Pre-K Morning Session Dismissal: 11:30am Afternoon Session: 3:15pm
• ·EARLY DISMISSAL
Dismissal is at 12:15 p.m. It is imperative to arrive or designate someone to pick your child up on time. Teachers must attend important meetings and professional development on these days.
*There will be NO Extended Day on early dismissal days.
• Inclement Weather
Please check Brockton Public Schools social media, Local News Stations, and you will receive a text or phone call.
• Attendance
If your child is absent from school, please write a letter to your child’s teacher.
While attendance is important to educational success, please keep your child home if they are ill or not feeling well.
• Open House
Wednesday, October 4, 2023, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Session 1 5:00 p.m. Session 2 6:00 p.m.
The two sessions will begin with a brief Meet and Greet in the cafeteria. Followed by your child’s classroom visit.
• Supply Lists
Please review your child’s school supply lists. Lists were sent home in June. Most school supplies sales are still going on now.
