Our Brockton Library after-school Makerspace students became plant scientists last week as they learned how to use microscopes while working on their snap pea growing project! Students explored the tiny details of seeds and plant structures, practiced proper microscope techniques, and discovered how scientists observe things that are too small to see with the naked eye. After their microscope investigation, they planted snap pea seeds, which have been germinating for a few weeks, and are now ready to watch science unfold as their plants grow. Through hands-on activities like these, students are developing observation skills, learning about plant biology, and experiencing the excitement of scientific discovery firsthand.
