We've got some new staff at John C and we are so proud to introduce you to some of our newest Jakes! Miss Fitzgerald is on our 4th grade team!

I am Alexis Fitzgerald and I am so excited to be teaching 4th grade this year! I am originally from Fairfax, VA and I graduated from JMU where I completed my student teaching right here at John C! Teaching is my biggest passion. When I’m not in the classroom I love to travel, go for walks with my rescue dog, Oatmeal, and spend time with family and friends! I am so happy to be a Jake!"

We are incredibly grateful to the Holly Hatcher Education Foundation for their generous gift to John C. Myers Elementary! 💚 This was presented to us on Monday and was the opener to our first day together as a staff. Today is Holly's birthday and we are honored to be wearing pink and flamingos to celebrate her.

Holly’s legacy is one of kindness, compassion, and a deep commitment to caring for children and the community around her. Her heart for the students of John C. Myers continues to make a difference through the generosity of those who carry her legacy forward.

We are honored to receive this gift and to use it to support and enrich the experiences of our students. Thank you to the Holly Hatcher Education Foundation for helping Holly’s spirit of caring live on at John C. Myers! 💚🤍

Jakes, it's hard to believe that yesterday marks a month until the first week of school on August 20!

It's that time of year where summer seems to be slipping by fast and it's time to gear up (literally!) for the upcoming school year!
