🎒 Every child deserves to start the school year with confidence and every family deserves a community that shows up for them.

I’m proud to support the 6th Annual Back to School Peace Rally, hosted by BBF Building Brighter Futures Center for the Arts, as our community comes together to equip students for a successful school year.

Join us on Sunday, August 2, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the BBF Center for the Arts, 1512 S. Pulaski Road in Chicago, for an afternoon of community, free backpack giveaways, live entertainment, food, refreshments, and valuable resources for children and families.

Thank you to Building Brighter Futures and the many community organizations, volunteers, sponsors, and partners whose commitment helps make opportunities like this possible. When we invest in our young people, we invest in a stronger future for our neighborhoods and for Illinois’ 7th Congressional District.

I hope to see you there!

This Sunday, join me, the Democratic Party of Illinois, and campaigns across the state as we knock on doors for Democratic Nominee for Congress La Shawn K. Ford, Governor JB Pritzker, Lieutenant Governor Nominee Christian Mitchell, U.S. Senate Democratic Nominee Juliana Stratton, Attorney General Kwame Raoul, Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias, Comptroller Democratic Nominee Margaret Croke, Treasurer Michael W. Frerichs, and Democrats up and down the ballot.

Every conversation matters. Together, we'll share our vision, listen to our neighbors, and build the momentum we need to win in November.

Whether you're a first-time volunteer or a seasoned canvasser, we'd love to have you join us. Training is provided. Just bring comfortable shoes, a fully charged phone, and your commitment to making a difference.

Huge thanks to the Broadview Park District for bringing Easter joy to our neighborhood with the Easter Bunny and 'You've Got Yoked'! If you missed it, don't worry, mark your calendars for next year and make sure to register for their events. It's amazing resources like these that make our community special for families and daycare owners, allowing the kids to enjoy Easter festivities right at your door step!
