This past Saturday, several FCPS1 employees and students joined Fauquier FISH to support its incredible work to help local children get ready for the new school year.

Together, more than 1,600 backpacks were sorted and distributed to help ensure children across our community have the tools they need to start the school year ready to learn.

A huge thank you to Fauquier FISH for making this effort possible and for the many ways you support children and families in our community. We’re grateful for the opportunity to lend a hand!

While families are getting ready for the first day of school, our FCPS1 team is doing the same.

Earlier this week, employees across Fauquier County Public Schools returned to their schools to officially kick off the 2026-27 school year. As part of the week, staff were welcomed back with a special video featuring voices from across FCPS1. Their words served as a reminder of why we do what we do and the lasting impact every member of the FCPS1 team has on our students and community.

We’re excited to share this video with our community as a behind-the-scenes look at the energy, care and commitment that go into preparing for a new school year.

Featuring (in order of appearance):
• Jase Ellis, sixth grade, Cedar Lee Middle School
• Harper Griffith, second grade, Bradley Elementary School
• Yandel Navarro Rodriguez, 12th grade, Liberty High School
• C.J. McCoy, parent, Grace Miller Elementary School
• Cori McCoy, third grade, Grace Miller Elementary School
• Joe Golimowski, FCPS1 Teacher of the Year, Kettle Run High School
• Chloe Von Herbulis, ninth grade, Kettle Run High School
• Donna Grove, School Board Chair
• Dr. Major Warner, Superintendent

From teachers and bus drivers to cafeteria teams, custodians, office staff and so many others, every employee plays an important role in creating a successful start to the school year.

We can’t wait to welcome students on Wednesday!
