I am a professional violinist, always looking for students, devoted to share my lifetime of experiences with excellence as the goal.

I started violin at age 3 in the Suzuki method and transferred to a more traditional method at age 9. While still a student in high school, I started working professionally as a violinist. I have played in numerous orchestras on every level and have been successful winning auditions throughout my career. I won a full tuition scholarship to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I studie

I have been doing some fun things since having more time at home. For students out there who are looking for opportunities to play, sight read, even practice their pieces. I have found a lot of nice violin piano accompaniments on YouTube, just google it and they come up. It will play the piano part as well as display the music. Great learning tool!! Keep practicing!!

"Méditation" is a symphonic intermezzo from the opera Thaïs by French composer Jules Massenet. The piece is written for solo violin and orchestra. The opera premiered at the Opéra Garnier in Paris on March 16, 1894.

The Méditation is an instrumental entr'acteperformed between the scenes of Act II in the opera Thaïs. In the first scene of Act II, Athanaël, a Cenobite monk, confronts Thaïs, a beautiful and hedonistic courtesan and devotée of Venus, and attempts to persuade her to leave her life of luxury and pleasure and find salvation through God. It is during a time of reflection following the encounter that the Méditation is played by the orchestra. In the second scene of Act II, following the Méditation, Thaïs tells Athanaël that she will follow him to the desert.

The piece is in D major and is approximately five minutes long (although there are a number of interpretations that stretch the piece to over six minutes). Massenet may also have written the piece with religious intentions; the tempo marking is Andante religioso, signifying his intention that it should be played religiously (which could mean either strictly in the tempo or literally with religiously-founded emotion) and at walking tempo, or around 60 BPM.

The reason I post this photo is for a number of reasons. The main reason is that music can take you anywhere in life. It first is an experience like no other, yes, but it is also a way to get somewhere in life. I never thought I would have the opportunity to play for the President of the United States, but I have done so many times in the past year. Just a short anecdote about what learning a musical instrument can lead you to.

I'm always available for questions regarding anything musical. Also, I usually have a performance coming up if you're interested to support live music performance.

It's never too late or early to start learning a musical instrument. The summer is a great time to start. Less distraction and more time to focus. Become a superstar at school, perform in the talent show, etc. I'm now accepting new student applications.

It's a great time to think about summer activities. Music lessons give your children endless possibilities and benefits. I have done clinics all over Fairfax, Prince William, Prince Georges, and Montgomery counties. There is a real opportunity for your children to stand out and achieve amazing things in music. It is an area of study that is in need of high achievers. I have had many students receive assistance to attend college because of their work on the violin.

I am accepting students of any age. The biggest benefit are in the 5-8 year old age group. They will have an amazing amount of accelerated growth starting at this age and be well ahead of their peers when it comes time to start their school program. It's a prime time to put an amazingly positive habit in their lives so they may have the chance to truly get to a level in their studies to be exceptional and able to enjoy all of the aspects of music.
