FAFSA Day is Tuesday, November 1st. We will be helping ALL seniors in ALL English classes fill out the free online application for federal student aid. Students will need to bring a copy of their 2015 tax forms and their parents' 2015 tax forms. Students whose parents are divorced will also need to know their parents' divorce date and the date they remarried (if applicable). A parent meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 1st from 4:30-5:30 pm in the high school library.

Local scholarships are due Friday, March 27th by 3:30 p.m. No late applications accepted.

Applications were handed out January 30th in senior English classes. They are also available at the school website on Catherine Boomer's TeacherSite.

FAFSA day at school on Wednesday, February 11th. A financial aid representative from Tulsa Community College will be on hand to help students fill out their financial aid application. Please send legal names, birth dates, SSNs, marital status (and dates of such), plus financial info with seniors. They will be working on the FAFSA in English, but we will also open the library from 5-6 pm for parents to stop by and work on it or ask questions.

College Connection in Tulsa on Sunday at the Fairgrounds 1-4 pm. Over 140 colleges, universities and financial aid companies will be there! Go to www.gotocollegefairs.com to register (it's free) & print out a bar code so you don't have to write your name and address at every table you visit.

Financial aid night this Wednesday, February 26th, at 5:30. Parents encouraged to attend. If you don't want to do your FAFSA Wednesday, send the info with your kid Thursday and Friday and we will help them do it during English class. This way, they get it done before March & they will learn how to do it since it will need to be done every year they are in college.

I HIGHLY recommend all students in high school set up an account at www.fastweb.com. Fastweb will email students about upcoming scholarships that they qualify for, streamlining the scholarship search.

SENIORS: JOSTENS will be back at the school to take orders for caps and gowns and announcements on Friday, November 8th. That is THIS Friday!! A deposit is also due on that date. Orders that are under $80 must be paid in full on Friday; orders over $80 must have an $80 deposit paid by Friday.

SOPHOMORE ring orders will also be made this Friday.

Parents, all Seniors and Sophomore were pulled out of class Tuesday morning to receive packets and ordering info from Jostens - FYI.

The ACT will be given December 14 in Stroud, Sapulpa, Kellyville, and Olive. The deadline to sign up for the December ACT is Friday, November 8th. That's in TWO days!!! Don't forget!!! Go to www.actstudent.org to sign up.

The ACT costs $36.50. You must pay online when you sign up. Students on free and reduced lunches that are juniors or seniors may take the ACT for free twice with a fee waiver. They need to see a counselor to pick up a fee waiver. JOM students may be able to have their ACT fees reimbursed. Make sure to see Mrs. Battenfield to be sure!!!
