Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Taylor Barnes!
Mrs. Barnes is excited to be joining the Bearcat family this year (and so is her Dad—he was a Bearcat)! This will be her 6th year in education and her 3rd year having her own classroom. She married her best friend, Cody, in May 2025, and they are loving this first year of marriage together.

Mrs. Barnes is passionate about building meaningful relationships with students and creating a classroom where every student feels seen, valued, and encouraged to grow. She loves making learning engaging, fostering curiosity, and helping students discover confidence in themselves both inside and outside the classroom.

Science has always been one of her greatest passions, especially exploring the wonders of space and the incredible world of life. Her love and enthusiasm for science, this world, and its vast wonders is something she cannot wait to share with her students. Mrs. Barnes hopes to inspire them to ask questions, think critically, and discover just how exciting it is to explore the world around them.

Outside of school, Mrs. Barnes enjoys traveling the world (you’ll often find her planning or taking a cruise!), trying new restaurants—she and her husband are huge Mexican food lovers—spending time with family and friends, watching any Marvel movie, attending or watching football games, and loving on their 3 rescue pups and 3 rescue cats. They love finding new adventures together and making memories along the way. She also enjoy shopping at places like Target, TJMaxx, and Marshalls, antiquing, and appreciating the little things in life.

Mrs. Barnes says "my faith is an important part of who I am, and I strive to lead each day with kindness, integrity, and a heart for serving others. I’m looking forward to an incredible year of learning, growth, and making wonderful memories together!"
