Bristol Child Development Center, Inc Bristol Child Development Center, Inc. is a nationally accredited childcare program funded through the State of Connecticut Office of Early Childhood. We serve over 200 students, ages 12 weeks through 12 years of age in two locations.

Bristol Child Development Center will be CLOSED due to the weather conditions today, Friday February 4, 2022.

We are currently looking for a full time cook for Bristol Child Development Center.
Monday through Friday 7:15-2:45.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

▪ Prepares and cooks nutritionally based family style meals which meet children’s nutritional needs according to the guidelines set forth under USDA requirements.

▪ Provides for special dietary needs of children and maintains appropriate record for dietary needs.

▪ Posts clearly written menus, with changes, in an appropriate area for parents and teachers.

▪ Maintain inventory of food and supplies and occasionally will grocery shop for items to meet menu plan.

▪ Works with nutrition consultant to provide appropriate menus.▪ Works with Administrative staff to prepare supply orders for vendors.▪ Keep food and preparation costs within budgetary limits.▪ Maintains cleanliness and follows safety and sanitation guidelines in the food service area.▪ Meets with state and local health personnel and USDA staff regarding nutrition and food service.▪ Signs all delivery bills/receipts and forwards to the bookkeeper.▪ In collaboration with the Administrative team assist in setting program goals and strategic planning.▪ Participates in continuing education trainings.▪ Promotes effective working relationships and works cooperatively as part of a team to facilitate the center’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.▪ Report issues and/or incidents concerning children, parents or staff to the administrative staff.▪ Maintain professionalism and confidentiality.▪ Performs other duties as assigned.

Educational Qualifications The educational requirements are a high school diploma or equivalency with one year experience in food preparation or catering.

Experience and Training

▪ At least one years of experience in food preparation and services.▪ Certification as a licensed food handler or Qualified Food Operator or willingness to complete required courses

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

▪ Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs▪ Must be able to operate all kitchen equipment including commercial stove, dishwashers and freezers.▪ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills ▪ Ability to adapt and work in a child care center environment which follows USDA guidelines for meal preparation and serving components.▪ Must be energetic and physically agile. Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing light objects and lifting children.▪ Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.▪ Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
