Like many of our neighbors, friends, and family, we are reeling from the recent storms that have hit the Maine coast and its communities. If you have been impacted by these events, check out these helpful resources, collected by the Island Institute:

Thanks cousin Vicki for making sure the gate still looks festive.

Boating season is here! We have some safety reminders for you if you bring your boat with you on vacation.

⛵Always wear a life jacket. If you think you will have time to put it on after you are in the water, think again.
⛵Stay alert and be aware of others on the water.
⛵Always operate your boat at a safe and reasonable speed for your surroundings.
⛵Remember that the law requires you to operate at "headway speed" within 200 feet of any shoreline, including islands, and within a marina or an approved anchorage in coastal or inland waters. "Headway speed" means the slowest speed at which it is still possible to maintain steering and control of the watercraft.
⛵Never drink and drive!
⛵Check the weather before leaving shore and carefully observe changing weather.
⛵Always wear an engine cutoff switch.
⛵Watch out for wildlife.
⛵Become familiar with the water body. Look at a map for depths and any potential hazards. Lake associations, Maine guides, and local wardens can be great resources.
⛵Bring plenty of water to stay hydrated and wear a hat and sunscreen to avoid overexposure to the sun.
⛵Always tell someone where you are going and when you will be back.

Will you party with us? We can hardly contain our excitement that renters are starting soon!

We love helping people enjoy the Maine coast with their families more than almost anything, and now that we have made a business out of it, we couldn’t be more grateful.

Since starting out, our love for what we do has grown exponentially, and each time we hit a new milestone, we're so happy we can hardly contain it.

So we are celebrating another summer of fun by basking in the (almost) summer sun! How do you celebrate your milestones?

There’s a Chinese proverb that says, “The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second best time is now.” We all have regrets, but let this be your reminder that no matter how your journey has gone so far, now is the second-best time to start planning your Maine vacation. Where are our fellow dreamers?! Some dreams we keep pretty quiet, sharing them with only a few friends. Others, we share with all of you, which is a great way to put it out into the universe. Right now we’re dreaming of flowers in bloom and the idea thrills us! What are you dreaming of, friend?

Who could use a treat today? We love running a rental property. The payoff is immediate—a treat in itself! But every day is not a breeze, and sometimes, we plan tiny treats as motivation. Usually, we grab an ice cream at the end of a long workday! What are you working toward, and how will you treat yo’self?

Every day you're hustling (yes, like the song)… We see you working hard! If you’re anything like us, some days the “hustle” doesn’t always feel productive. It’s on these days we rely on 3 tips that keep us focused:

Tip # 1 Prioritize 5-10 minutes of solitude before you start your day to breathe, reflect, and set intentions for your day.
Tip # 2 Get outside! A little sunshine or crisp fresh air can go a long way.
Tip # 3 Be kind to yourself. Some days just don’t go as planned. That’s ok! You can always begin again tomorrow.

And remember: It’s not just you. No matter how “put together” someone may look on the outside, we all lose focus and motivation sometimes. What tried and true tips would you add to this list?
