Mayhew Boys love to go fishing rain or shine!

When Outreach Worker, Marcus picked up Nicholas and Anthony in Lebanon for a visit he had an indoor activity planned due to the rain. The boys asked Marcus if he had fishing poles in his car and said that they'd rather be outside! The boys had so much fun in the rain-playing, laughing and fishing. Nicholas even caught a crayfish!

Mayhew challenges and helps at-risk New Hampshire boys to believe in themselves, work well with others, and find their best. It is the only all-boys program in the state that combines school-year mentoring and a residential summer program for at-risk boys, tuition-free, through high school graduation.

All Mayhew participants benefit from regular mentoring visits in their home communities from Mayhew's team of professional outreach staff in one-on-one and small group settings throughout the year. The focus is on helping the boys apply the program ideals of respect, responsibility, community, and challenge to their lives at home, school and beyond.

Last week we welcomed Leadership Lakes Region to Mayhew for the day!

The group held their orientation in the lodge. We had the opportunity to share about the lifechanging impact that Mayhew has on NH boys.

Leadership Lakes Region is an organization dedicated to community improvement by developing, expanding, promoting and putting in place a network of effective volunteer leaders with a variety of skills and interests. The program focuses on the important aspects of civic life by exploring and increasing general understanding of the History and Culture, Economic, Political, Social and Educational issues unique to the Lakes Region.

Mayhew challenges and helps at-risk New Hampshire boys to believe in themselves, work well with others, and find their best. Outreach Worker, David had a visit with Atticus and Sylas. They went to the Herbert G. Whipple Nature Park in Sugar Hill for a stroll, then over to Artist Bluff in Franconia Notch and hiked the looped. They ended the visit watching the sunset from the Governor Gallen Memorial Bridge.
