As part of our homeschool deals series, we’re excited to highlight one of the BEST local homeschool resources: Hillbilly Book Barn!

This January and February, they’re offering 75% off items marked with green and red dots! We say “one of the best” because we think we are a pretty awesome and affordable resource too—just $50 per year!

Hillbilly Book Barn is packed with curriculum organized by age/grade and subject. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and eager to help you find not just what you need, but what will truly work for you. Our director experienced this firsthand on a recent visit while searching for resources for a struggling kiddo.

A quick heads-up: be sure to check their hours before heading out, as they tend to have shorter-than-average hours.

In order to maintain safe and healthy guidelines, we are making changes in our consignment process. How do you homeschool on a budget? One of the best ways is to utilize public libraries, and not just for borrowing books! Public libraries offer everything from loan-a-item programs to 3D printers. Many even have entire programs geared toward homeschoolers and education! Miss Shelly at Bristol Public Library was my go-to for information and help when my oldest kids were little 20 years ago, and she’s still our favorite librarian today with my 1- and 4-year-old! Don’t be shy about contacting your local library to ask about the services they offer. Then, check out their website for their calendar of events. You’ll almost always find something your kids will enjoy!
