Former Field HS track and cross country coach Bill Huntington was recently inducted into the 2025 Class of the Summit County Sports HOF. It was an FHS “reunion” of sorts as several fellow Field teachers were on hand to help congratulate Mr. Huntington! I managed to get my former teachers and coaches together for a group photo after the ceremony!
It was great catching up with all of them and doing some reminiscing.

We would like to share with our Field Local Schools community that Jim Dee, a longtime educator and former principal of Field High School, passed away on Friday, August 15.

Mr. Dee dedicated 36 years of service to the Field Local School District. He began his career teaching industrial arts to middle school students, later led the Occupational Work Experience (OWE) program, and ultimately served as principal of Field High School until his retirement in 2005.

He is remembered fondly by colleagues, students, and community members for his deep commitment to education and the positive impact he made on so many lives.

A private memorial service will be held this weekend with his family in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Mr. Dee’s legacy of dedication and service to Field lives on through the many students, colleagues, and community members he impacted—and through his granddaughter, Mrs. Sarah Fuerst, who continues his commitment to education here in our district as a teacher at Suffield. 💙

Class of ‘77 alums (l-r) Linda Lohr, Jeff Kurtz, Susan Bird and John Saxe kicked off 2025 by getting together for lunch and plenty of reminiscing at Hartville Kitchen today! We had a great time sharing stories and memories from our days at FHS, as well as remembering our teachers and classmates at Brimfield, Suffield and Central elementary schools!
We were honored to be joined by Joyce Linton Frazee from the Class of ‘76!!
