Self-confidence only comes from results.

In order to be confident that I am capable in a thing, I must first learn and then prove to myself that I know that thing. Before that I can't actually be confident.

The competitive environment that exists in BJJ is the perfect place for this. And I don't strictly mean competition matches like in the photo - good rolls on the mats in the gym absolutely count. It's you versus another person, and one of you will typically best the other.

At the end of the day we're all friends, we all work together to become better, and we all leave more confident in ourselves than when we started.

Next weekend is your chance to join us for an initial CHP permit class.

We go over points of law with a strong emphasis on use of force and what's legal and what isn't (it's not exactly what you might think..) on the first day. The second day is spent on the outdoor range working on your draw, accuracy, and speed.

The class is taught by Coach Tony, an NRA certified instructor and competitive shooter, who holds a slew of instructor certs in related topics.
