Brighton Adventist Academy Fall Festival is coming!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 17, from 6:00-9:00 PM and join us for a fun fall evening for the whole family!

We are planning an awesome night filled with activities, delicious food, bouncy houses, a maze, games, prizes, and so much more! There will be something for kids and adults alike, so bring the whole family and invite your friends and neighbors to join you.

There is something special about seeing a community come together to care for a place they believe in.

This week, some wonderful volunteers gave their time, energy, and plenty of sweat to help us continue preparing the Brighton Adventist Academy campus for the new school year. They pulled weeds, cleaned out flower beds, moved and spread a whole lot of mulch, planted new flowers, and helped breathe new life into spaces our students walk past every day.

And we could not be more grateful.

At BAA, "Using our gifts to serve" isn't simply something written in our mission statement. It's something we want our students to see lived out around them. This is what service looks like: people noticing something that needs to be done and choosing to use the gifts, time, and resources God has given them to bless someone else.

It is The Jesus Way.

It is also a beautiful picture of what it means to be Known. Called. Sent. We are known and loved by God, called to something bigger than ourselves, and sent to make a difference wherever He has placed us.

As we prepare for another year of Learning with Excellence, Growing in Christ, and Using our Gifts to Serve, we are thankful for a community that models our CHERISH values not only with words, but with action.

To everyone who helped with this project: THANK YOU. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for working in the heat. Thank you for pulling weeds, hauling mulch, planting flowers, and caring about all of the little details.

Most of all, thank you for helping us prepare a beautiful, welcoming place for the children God has entrusted to us.

Every bag of mulch, every flower planted, and every hour volunteered says the same thing:

Our students are worth preparing for.

Pre-session at Brighton Adventist Academy is about so much more than meetings, checklists, and classroom setup. It is about preparing ourselves and our campus to welcome the greatest young people in the world back to school!

This week, our staff has been hard at work getting classrooms ready, organizing resources, preparing lessons, dreaming about the year ahead, and making sure BAA is a place where every student can feel known, loved, challenged, and called to something greater.

And today, we made time for something just as important: having fun together! Our team took on an escape room, shared plenty of laughs, solved some puzzles, and strengthened the relationships that help us serve our students well. And yes… based on the signs, some team members may have contributed more than others.

As we prepare for a new year, everything keeps pointing us back to who we are and why we are here:

Learning with Excellence. We want our students to discover, question, create, persevere, and grow.

Growing in Christ. Before anything else, we want every child to know that they are deeply loved by Jesus.

Using Our Gifts to Serve. God has uniquely gifted every student, and every member of our staff, to make a difference in the lives of others.

Through our CHERISH values, we are building a culture of Christ-centered character, respect, responsibility, and belonging. And through our theme this year, The Jesus Way, we are asking a simple but powerful question in everything we do:

What does it look like to live, learn, lead, and love like Jesus?

We are Known. Called. Sent. And we cannot wait to see what God does at BAA this year.

The classrooms are coming together. The campus is getting ready. The team is growing stronger. Now we’re just missing our students.

Known. Called. Sent.

Our Brighton Adventist Academy staff recently had the opportunity to step away from the busyness of preparing for a new school year and attend the Rocky Mountain Conference Teacher Meetings at Glacier View Ranch.

Surrounded by the beauty of the mountains, we were spiritually renewed through worship and messages from David Vandevere, Tim Gillespie, and Andrew Carpenter. We were reminded that we are known by God, called for a purpose, and sent in love to make a difference in the lives of the students and families we serve.

We also continued growing as educators through professional learning centered on The New Art and Science of Teaching. Time spent learning, collaborating, and fellowshipping with teachers from across the conference gave us an opportunity to build meaningful connections, recharge in nature, and return ready for the year ahead.

The retreat reflected so much of what we believe at BAA:

Learning with excellence as we continue developing our skills as educators.

Growing in Christ as we worship, reflect, and seek God’s direction.

Using our gifts to serve as we prepare to invest in every student entrusted to our care.

As we begin this new school year, we are grateful to be Known, Called, and Sent to lead our students in The Jesus Way, living with faith, compassion, courage, and purpose.

Imagine a classroom where every student is known by name, by strength, and by story.

That's a typical day at Brighton Adventist Academy. Our small size means teachers get to truly know their students: their strengths, their challenges, their interests, and the gifts God has placed within them.

Our students are encouraged to:

Ask thoughtful questions
Develop strong academic skills
Learn through hands-on experiences
Grow as leaders and take on responsibility
Treat others with kindness and integrity
Grow in their relationship with Jesus

What a blessing it is to be part of a community that serves together!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for yesterday's School Work Bee. Your time, effort, generosity, and care helped prepare our campus for the students and families who will soon walk through our doors: from organizing equipment storage to cleaning floors, windows, shutters, and bathrooms, every hand made a difference.

Every cleaned space, completed project, and helping hand was an investment in our students.

We are deeply grateful for the people who make Brighton Adventist Academy such a special community.

At Brighton Adventist Academy, our classrooms are intentionally designed to help students grow through every stage of their elementary and middle-school journey.

Kindergarten–Grade 2: Building confidence through discovery, strong foundations, and loving care.

Grades 3–5: Developing academic skills, spiritual habits, independence, and a love of learning.

Grades 6–8: Preparing students to lead, serve, think critically, and enter high school with confidence.

From a child’s first days of school through the middle-school years, we want each student to be known, supported, and encouraged to become the person God created them to be.

Our school is more than a building. It is a community built through prayer, service, and many willing hands.

BAA families are invited to join us for our School Work Bee on Sunday, July 26, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Together, we will help prepare our campus to welcome back the greatest young people in the world, our students, for a wonderful new school year. Every act of service, large or small, helps create a place where children can learn with excellence, grow in Christ, and use their gifts to serve.
