Our amazing cast and crew of Newsies was honored to be visited at intermission by Governor Maura Healey and her partner Joanna Lydgate (lower middle above), who were in the audience for Sunday's final performance. The show was amazing and we are so proud of our students! Huge congrats to Emily, Charlie, Alex J, and Jessie Z for all they did to make this happen for our kids. It was a wonderful moment for our entire community!

The whole school gathered today in the auditorium for an incredible 2025 send-off that included a performance by the BGA band, a special holiday episode of BGA TV, and then performances of "Bottom Line" and "The World Will Know" from the upcoming BGA Musical, "Newsies."

PLUS, drum roll please, a special all-school performance of the Twelve Days of BGA. What's that you say? So glad you asked. Here you go:

Three dead Chromebooks

And a lit BGA hoodie!

In Erica Foster's Engineering class, students learned how a young, Malawian inventor made a homemade wind turbine to provide water and prevent starvation during a severe drought and famine. Now they're using this inspiration to build their own wind turbine blades. In this picture, Mahki is using a multimeter to measure the current and voltage produced by his blades, and will calculate the resulting power to see if his design comes out on top in the upcoming class competition!

Huge congrats to sophomore Joy Jones for being named to the BCL 2025 All-City Team for cheerleading! Coach P was also awarded BCL Coach of the Year! In addition, sophomore JuJu Frechette was named to the 2025 All-Conference Cheer Team. Lots to celebrate this cheer season!
