Brighton Memorial Library District

We are excited to help out The Nest (the youth sponsoring this event) and the Overnight Warming Locations (OWL) as a community drop-off location for anyone wishing to donate. If you would like to assist, we ask that donations be dropped off during regular business hours (M,W, F: 10am-4pm and T, TH: 12pm - 6pm) See comments for the box they designed for the collection (so cute) by November 2nd.

Each year, the OWLs open their doors to provide overnight shelter, community, and connection for individuals experiencing heat-related hardships, including homelessness, during the coldest nights of the year. The organization serves the Riverbend area and is entirely run by volunteers and community support.

Ready to dive into the world of sourdough? Join us on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. at Brighton Memorial Library District for a fun, hands-on class where you’ll learn how to create and care for your own sourdough starter from scratch. We’ll break down the science behind sourdough, explore its health benefits, and share foolproof recipes to help you get baking.

Each participant will leave with a jar of starter, plus the confidence to keep it thriving. Bring your questions! We’re here to help troubleshoot and set you up for sourdough success!
