We listened.
Following the May election, Brighton Area Schools met with community members, reviewed priorities, and revised the scope of the bond proposal for the November 3, 2026 ballot.
The revised proposal:
Reduces the overall scope
Focuses on essential needs
Centers on three areas: Protect. Preserve. Prepare.
What changed financially?
The revised November proposal is $90.275 million - a $66.01 million reduction - with a 0-mill tax rate increase.
This limited scope focuses on essential needs while reflecting feedback from the Brighton community.

Continue the America’s 250th celebration this fall with the Downtown Brighton Historical Scavenger Hunt, running through Veterans Day! When you arrive at a stop, watch the corresponding video below to uncover the location’s history, learn how it helped shape our community, and discover a fun fact from America’s past!

When you find all 25 locations (see photo and map), head to City Hall to receive your commemorative prize. A downloadable packet to track your progress is located on the City of Brighton's website or hardcover copies are also available at City Hall.
