Austin turned on the water and opened things up Upta Camp yesterday to no surprises. The water levels of the brook/swamp area between the camp and the pond are fairly high, and there is a lot of standing water, but that is nothing new. The spring thaw and lotsa rain always create this mess of sorts.
To let everyone know that we will be renting the residence the month of September and most of October. If anyone is interested, please let us know.

October 29: On a gloomy overcast day, Austin closed things up for the season. What a marvelous year it has been! So much was accomplished. To now be able to enjoy the property 3-seasons; heat, well water, and insulation make such a difference.

When the cat's away, work still gets done Upta Camp! Grateful to 'Bill, The Trashman,' out of Casco for ridding the property of its two former outbuildings. They were to have been projects for next summer, but Allstate Insurance Co. suggested otherwise. Bill and his crew did a masterful job at an incredible price!!

August 16: Now a week removed from this peaceful place, Austin (aka Mr. Dad) was given the afternoon off. So what did he do? He added over 15 square feet to the upstairs space Upta Camp. It also means that you can walk more upright vs. what I remember last week! I am blessed, having Austin as an incredible craftsman/ SON!!

August 10: Getting a late start. Really hard to pull away. Guess that is why God have us the ability to close our eyes and be right there. Will be closing my eyes a lot-

August 9: Closing day Upta Camp. Did lots of little projects in an effort to seal up the interior of the cabin to keep the vermin out (here’s to hoping!). Austin, Lily, and Ronald came by for a last hurrah and sweet Lily napped in my arms ( heaven). And then they were gone- Did one more short kayak ride, then an adult beverage on the dock; tears flowed. Summer ‘18 has been far too short, but has been filled with memories for a lifetime. The good news is that I get to return in late September for 5 days. Looking forward to enjoying an early taste of fall. I will be nice and cozy here as the cabin is now heated! Off to see my cousin, Kemm, tomorrow night, and then the remaining miles to Delray and my bride to be; 10/20/18; can’t wait!! Simply put, I AM blessed.

July 25: On a tear yesterday and today. The loft area now has been completely v-matched. Just the trim needs to be done now.

July 23: The Rinnai heater got hooked up today. Incredible techs. I can not say enough about Dead River service. We are now a full 3-season camp!

July 23: Put up the v-match on the adult side of the loft this afternoon. What a difference! Getting ready for ‘company’ Wednesday- looking forward to another pillow!!
