Winona 2027 Alumni Allagash Trip

A ‘Staunch & True’ group of two current campers and eight alumni & friends (guided by father-daughter team, Bruce and Brooke McDonald) just returned from a wildly successful first-ever, post-camp trip to benefit the Winona Camps Foundation. The group travelled 62 miles in six days across rivers, lakes, ponds and streams on the fabled Allagash Wilderness Waterway. Perfect weather, stunning wildlife, great food and fantastic company were highlights of the week. A huge thanks to all who made the trip! Stay tuned for announcements for future adventures.

That’s a wrap for Winona’s 2026 Family Camp. What a fantastic time! Thank you to all the Family Campers and our Winona Staff who made this season - our 51st - so special.

Loads of rain on the evening of Awards Night never deters us, because that just means we get to experience a “classic” event of generations past, with deafening cheers, singing with our friends and BATs reveal on the Cobb fireplace mantle. Congratulations to all campers for your great competition and successes this summer (it was a sweep of the banners for the Reds 🔴🔴🔴; the Grays were awesome opponents). Winona’s end of season carnival, “Senior Circus”, was a huge success thanks to Winona’s 2026 Senior campers, who host this event each summer as a way to give back to the camp community. Senior Winona invites Junior and Intermediate campers for games, casino and fun activities. A great time is had by all! The Winona kitchen provides a delicious county fair-esque dinner, Uncle Bubba hands out the NECCO wafers to be used as currency (or as a snack), CITs serve snow cones and Aunt Gina Gina Elliott Proulx takes wonderful pictures (except no pictures of casino management, please 🥸🥸). 🤣

Winona’s 2026 counselors, staff and volunteers are Staunch & True! They have invested their time, energy and care into summer, providing an environment where campers can grow and succeed. And also have a lot of fun! These men and women (and apparently, one wizard) truly love camp and the opportunities it provides for boys - a place to try new things and to be your authentic self.
