Last night we had three guys competing at rocket combat sports. Two pros and one making his amateur mma debut. All have been busting their butts in the gym and I couldn't be more proud of our guys.
Eric taking his first ever fight started out super timid but by round 3 he had made a few in fight adjustments and wmlooked a lot more like him1self in the 3rd.
He is a young fighter who is still working down to a lower weight class with lots of potential backed by hard work. He also showed that he has absolutely no quit in him!
James came up next, coming into the fight as an underdog. As you can see from the picture he was on a seven fight winning streak and ranked number four in the US before going pro and head won his first pro fight.
James came in looked very composed and was fighting great. In fact he absolutely dominated the first three and a half minutes of the round. That's when he made a mental error and kept trying to play the game that his opponent was best at when James started to lose a little bit of ground.
With his opponent being the very good fighter that he is that's all it took was a slight mistake and he caught James in a triangle that finished the fight.
Last but not least we had Noah making his Pro debut which was a very back and forth fight. Throughout the fight both Noah and his opponent had very good moments in every aspect of MMA but for the most part Noah got the better of the Striking while his opponent got the better of the grappling.
I was very excited for Noah due to the fact that he is traditionally a very slow starter but had a very solid first round performance even though it was a close round a lot of times Noah in the past has lost the first round decisively. Now makes two fights in a row where he has had very good performances in the first round so I believe we're making progress on the slow starting issue.
The second round was one of the craziest things I've ever seen where Noah got punched in the growing hard enough that it broke his cup and you can actually hear it on the Pay-Per-View. The fight was not stopped because the ref was not at an angle where he could see what happened and thought he got hit in the body.
Anyone who's ever been hit hard in the groin knows how amazing it is that Noah was able to fight through it despite the pain he was in and even though he got dominated on the ground the second round he managed to make it to the Third after taking that insane low blow.
In the third round interditional noaction he came out and absolutely dominated his opponent and it ended up going to the scorecards were they ruled it a draw.
All three of these men falter hearts out showed some good things and found some things they need to work on but I without a doubt know that all of them will come out better on the other side of this.
If you didn't see it or want to see it again definitely go check out the pay-per-view from rocket Combat Sports there was a lot of other really good exciting fights on there as well so it's definitely worth the couple bucks to buy.
And once again I and the rest of the team couldn't be more proud of the effort they have put in and The Way They Carried themselves!
