Black+Abroad is back!

This Virtual Series is next week - April 19-21!

In an effort to promote candid conversation and equity among black students to encourage travel and study abroad, this free series connects students with study abroad alumni, expats and nomads of color to engage in conversation around blackness perception, funding, travel tips, lessons learned and opportunities for international experiences.

Please see https://blackabroadva.wixsite.com/black-abroad for session and presenter information and register from there.

The Black + Abroad virtual series aims to curate a space for black students to share their thoughts, questions, and reservations about travel (and study abroad) by engaging in conversation and storytelling with experienced travelers and study abroad alumni of color and education abroad advisers.

I’m so proud to announce that our Black+Abroad Virtual Series won the 2021 GoAbroad Innovation Award for Innovation in Diversity (link to GoAbroad's announcement in the comments). The award recognizes strategic efforts to expand international educational opportunities to traditionally underrepresented groups. Winners in the various categories are chosen by leaders in the field of international education.

This series was a wonderful collaborative effort with colleagues from VCU, Shenandoah University, Hollins University, Randolph-Macon College and BC, and our student volunteers and alumni panelist were instrumental in making this event a success!

Session recordings and other resources are still posted on the website: https://blackabroadva.wixsite.com/black-abroad
