✨ Michael Spence, Speaker, Coach & Educational Consultant, will deliver the Luncheon Keynote.
✨ Rashawn Davis, Executive Director of Citizen Service, will be our Open Plenary Speaker.

Students, parents, school counselors, and educators will leave with practical college-readiness tools, interactive workshops, and real-world insights on careers, leadership, and opportunities.

This is a full day built for students, parents, and counselors — with panels on writing standout college essays, paying for college, building a strong academic profile, choosing the right school, and more. Plus a student-only testimonial panel and a Parent College-Planning Boot Camp!

📚 Building Partnerships Through the Power of Books!

For generations, New Jersey Orators chapters have visited local libraries and bookstores, creating meaningful connections around reading, learning, and the power of the spoken word.

These visits are more than just trips to pick out a book—they are opportunities for our Orators to engage with their communities, discover new voices and ideas, and build lasting relationships with local institutions. Libraries and bookstores have been important partners in supporting NJO’s mission and encouraging young people to become confident readers, thinkers, and communicators.

As we continue to celebrate the importance of literacy and intellectual freedom, we encourage our chapters to visit, support, and build relationships with their local libraries and bookstores. 📖✨

📚 Meet the Author: Isabella Monroe ✍️

This month, our middle school Orators are reading Inspiring Stories for Amazing Black Girls: 30 Motivational Tales of Courage, Perseverance, Problem-Solving, and Friendship.

Each tale introduces readers to remarkable young girls who face challenges head-on, solve problems with creativity, and build strong friendships — stories designed to celebrate courage, resilience, and kindness.

Used for weekly recitation practice, this book gives our students literacy exposure and representation they don't always get in the classroom.

For years, New Jersey Orators chapters have connected with local libraries and bookstores — spaces that have always been part of our students' literacy journey. These visits expose our young Orators to new authors, new stories, and a lifelong love of reading that carries directly into their public speaking growth.

It's a partnership rooted in our community, and one we're proud to keep building chapter by chapter.
