Today is the last day of camp and we will cherish all the wonderful memories we’ve made this summer at PSPK! To end things on a high note, we enjoyed bubble magic with RockinPartyMagic and enjoyed a festive luau and concert by Mimi Works Music. Soak up the last bit of summer over the next few weeks... we can’t wait to see you in September!

At camp this week, the theme was “Science Exploration.” PSPK welcomed Mad Science to the school to give a fun, interactive STEM presentation that had the kids cheering for more! Students learned the difference between physical changes and chemical changes while watching different materials transform before their eyes. The science and magic of dry ice was a real crowd pleaser! We love opportunities to spark the imagination and curiosity of our campers.

This morning, PSPK campers were treated to a performance of “Finding Nemo, Jr.” by Applause Touring Collective’s young actors. The children loved the music, the dancing, and the story of young Nemo and his father finding each other again with the help of their friends. Following the performance, cast members answered questions and gave autographs to those in attendance.

Today we welcomed Jennifer Korneski from Somerset County Family & Community Health Sciences, Rutgers Cooperative, to the school to talk to the children about one of summer’s delicious delights – blueberries! Blueberries are packed with nutrients like vitamin C and fiber and are a true antioxidant powerhouse. Campers learned how blueberries grow and what regions produce the most blueberries in the US. Next, they had a chance to make a blueberry craft before enjoying a “blueberry pizza” as a special snack. Educating children on nutrient dense foods helps promote healthy eating habits in our young learners.

We are excited to announce that registration is now open for our fall Pathway to Preschool classes. This program is thoughtfully designed for children aged 18 to 36 months to explore early learning in a nurturing environment. With a focus on guided play, crafts, story time, and sensory activities, children will develop independence while being supported by a trusted adult and our professional staff. Classes are available once a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays, with limited class sizes to ensure personalized attention. To cap off our “Animal Antics” week at camp, Eyes of the Wild came and gave a presentation on different animal species and the importance of conservation. Campers had a chance to pet a bearded dragon, a chinchilla, and a ferret. From listening to animal stories, to designing yummy snacks, to creating beautiful paper crafts, the children thoroughly enjoyed a wild and wonderful week at PSP&K!
