GPSA - Budget and Finance Coordinator
Role Description:
As of the 2022-2023 academic year, GPSA - Budget and Finance Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and upholding the association’s funding balance by reviewing the yearly invoices and ensuring The Graduate Professional Student Association stays within its budget. This position will begin in mid-January.
Responsibilities:
-Collaborate with GPSA Advisor and President to ensure we are tracking our budget
-Collect and organize invoices in Microsoft teams
-Monitoring of the event expenses that are coming from the budget

GPSA - Student Engagement Coordinator
Role Description:
The student Engagement Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and upholding the association’s image by being active on social media platforms and recruiting new members. Online platforms include the current GPSA website: The Graduate Professional Student Association, Instagram, and Twitter. The Student Engagement Coordinator should collaborate with GPSA’s executive board and sub-committees to perform consistent outreach and recruitment to all graduate students at BSU. This position will begin in mid-January.
Responsibilities:
-Represent GPSA positively and professionally, adhering to the association's standards.
-Manage GPSA Outlook inbox ([email protected]) and relay messages to appropriate parties.
-Manage the GPSA website on BSU's SharePoint.
-Obtain social media platform credentials (Instagram & Twitter) and maintain an online presence for GPSA.
-Generate new ideas to promote recruitment and student outreach through semester events and other ways to improve graduate life.
-Collaborate with GPSA Advisor and President to create materials that advertise upcoming events and recruitment efforts.
-Assist with the organization of GPSA initiatives, including booking accommodations according to association needs, coordinating and preparing resources required to execute events, and reviewing GPSA materials periodically to improve programming.
-Manage interest spreadsheet, attend relevant events for recruitment (such as orientation) when feasible, respond to inquiries about membership, and welcome/acclimate new members.
-Engage in regular GPSA meetings to provide updates on outreach projects and social media platforms.
-Vote as a member of the executive board to make decisions on behalf of GPSA.

Mandy is excitedly completing her Master of Social Work degree and is planning to graduate this Spring. She has recently had two articles published in the Graduate Review and is continuing her efforts in researching and educating others on wellness. Mandy helped co-find the GPSA's Mental Health and Wellness Committee to best educate and support graduate students on campus. She loves to encourage others to practice self-care and creativity. When she has downtime, you can find her with her favorite four-legged sidekick on trails by the water, holed up in a book, or engaging in some art related activity.

Em is the returning Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for GPSA. While earning her third degree from Bridgewater State in the Master of Social Work Program, Em uses her counseling background to lead initiatives that make graduate school accessible and support the uniqueness of every person within the community. This year, Em is focused on enhancing connections between university resources and the graduate student body. She hopes to improve how her peers experience education at BSU.

Meet the 2022-2023 GPSA President, Rachel Cullity! Rachel is studying criminal justice and cybersecurity and will receive her Master's in the spring. Rachel aspires to get a Ph.D. in criminal justice specializing in cybersecurity. She serves as the President of The Graduate Professional Student Association (GPSA) and Alpha Phi Sigma-The National Criminal Justice Honors Society at Bridgewater State University. Additionally, she works in the Criminal Justice Department at BSU as a research assistant and collaborates with the Shannon Community Safety Initiative (CSI). The Shannon Community Safety Initiative (CSI) aims to reduce gang violence across the Commonwealth. In addition to leadership roles and work, she has been working on her thesis, "The Perception of Collective Efficacy and Juvenile Delinquency," in which she will present her oral defense this upcoming May.
