The issues behind love empowering our lives are basically two:

(1) Are we disciples of Jesus or “Christians”? Disciple is used 250+ times in the NT, Christian is used 3 times! Jesus said, “by this will all men know you are my disciples if you love one another.” If we’re confused about what a NT Disciple was, we can’t understand what love looked like- love and discipleship go together;

(2) have we been baptized/filled with the Holy Spirit? If not, likewise, we will be confused with what love (the first fruit of the Spirit, should look like today. Christ said make disciples and stay in Jerusalem until the Spirit comes upon you. Are we clear on these twin causes of today’s needed renewal of the love of Christ?

Let the sun rise on your theology. Let the Son be the center of your theology. In the last 5 years, this is where the Lord has led me, theologically:

The Lord Jesus Christ, the Alpha and Omega, was not the center of my theology because:

I did not receive the Word He gave to the Apostles in John 13-16. There He said, “It is good that I am leaving you, if I don’t then the Helper cannot come. If I do, He will abide with you forever.”I have been raised, theologically, to respond to Jesus’ statement with, “So what?”

But Jesus said, “He will teach you all things.” “He will exalt Me in new ways to you.” “He will teach you the things to come.” I yawned. It was not until 3 years ago that I took one month off and studied only the person and work of the Holy Spirit, especially in the New Testament.

I deeply repented as a result of that revelation- all within the Word. Nearly 300 times spoken of.

I realized that I was not truly Trinitarian. Yes, theologically I was and taught it- but Really- my Trinity was: The Father, The Son and The Holy SCRIPTURES- not The Holy Spirit!!!!!!

Let love win through YOU??? How do you and I have agape matter most? Not by asking for a love-upgrade or infusion. But by being truly, really FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT, for love is His gift, His fruit.

I won’t argue with you. Read your Bibles. Why did Jesus demand of the 11 stay in Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high? Because right now, between His ascension and 2nd Coming- the Holy Spirit is carrying us all forward- and most don’t know it. I didn’t. I invite you to stay tuned on this Love Works line and I will help you. I say with Paul: “Follow me as I follow Christ.” I will do this through email- so, if you’re open and truly desire not to resist, not to grieve and not to quench Thr Gift, the Power from on High,” the precious Holy Spirit who Jesus now uses “to do exceedingly abundantly above all you could ever imagine” (Eph 3), then say so below. Don’t just “like” this post- come to the school of the Holy Spirit by sharing your email address ! You will receive power when He comes upon you and then You will really be a witness, a disciple who “glorifies my Fsther” and “bears much fruit, proving you are a real disciple,” “fruit that will remain “ (John 15). At the memorial service for Reverend Dr. Herb Lusk, Junior, former Philadelphia eagle and pastor at greater exodus Baptist church for 40 years in North Philly. This man’s life was love for his community.

Love crosses bridges into new territory. 2019 is the infamous 400th anniversary of the arrival of slavery in North America. Yes, one year before the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock in 1620, slaves were brought to Jamestown! I was privileged to be invited to attend the meeting of Philadelphia Baptist pastors and leaders at 10th Memorial Baptist Church to honor Dr. and Mrs. William Moore on their 50th anniversary. May God forgive us, As the church of Jesus Christ, for our forefathers’ building this nation on the backs and lives of African slaves., and for so few of us showing repentance to that horrific lifestyle that brought us wealth at their expense. Lord show us what fruits should accompany this repentance in Jesus name amen.

Since Jesus is the God of love, if you are following Jesus (love), He will lead you where ONLY love can take you. You MUST be filled with love by the Holy Spirit to follow Jesus! Seek that filling today and daily.
