ack Belt instructors, Evin and Emilee Williams, we provide instruction of students starting at 6 years-old and up. Students are instructed on a curriculum established by Grand Master Artesi that aligns with his many years of personal instruction. Your 1st class with us is free before making a financial commitment, so come in and experience what it is like to be a student at M&M Karate. Once enrolled, you will be required to attend 2, one-hour classes/week consisting of 30 minutes of exercise/stretching and 30 minutes of targeted instruction in a group setting. *All students will receive a free uniform upon enrolling. When demonstration of sufficient knowledge and skills are obtained, students will advance at their own pace to the next level/belt color. If the student is committed to the art and has an authentic desire for advancement, a Black Belt can be obtained in several years. Our Dojo does NOT have a rapid-advancement policy, but rather will advance only after they can properly demonstrate all required techniques. Self-defense techniques are also stressed in our program. Self-defense is practiced with actual, contact sparring while wearing protective, foam gear in a guided, controlled situation. When students attain a more advanced rank, they will begin to learn/train with original Okinawan weapons, starting with the traditional Ratan Bo Staff. Weapons and open-hand self defense are stressed for defense purposes only, NOT for an offensive aggression. The first rule of of the Dojo is: Karate should ONLY be used for self defense. The second rule of the Dojo is: Always follow Rule #1. If you or a family member are interested in Karate, you are welcome to come inside and watch a class.
