It is with sadness that we have lost our classmate Sharon. Our sincere condolences to her family and friends. πŸ’™
Sharon Alwin Brown-McKinley transitioned peacefully on March 20, 2026, surrounded by love. She was born on January 7, 1956, in Southport, NC. Sharon was raised in Bridgeton, NJ where she attended Bridgeton High School and graduated in 1974. She continued her education at Glassboro State (Rowan University).

In 1977, she joined the Army and became a drill sergeant and customs officer. She was honorably discharged in 1981 where she was awarded a Good Conduct Medal, an Army Service Ribbon, an Overseas Ribbon and a NCO Professional Development Ribbon in recognition for her service in the Army. Sharon was a proud veteran and continued to support her fellow veterans.

After leaving the service Sharon settled in Baltimore Md. where she raised her three daughters. She opened a daycare shortly after moving to Baltimore and had the respect of the community for ensuring the kids in the community were taught, fed and learned respect for themselves & others. She also worked at the Baltimore police station as a dispatch operator for several years.

Sharon had a warm loving, strong & vibrant soul. She found joy in life's simple pleasures by cooking good food, reading, enjoying her favorite Disney & Marvel movies and spending time with her girls, grandchildren & family.

Sharon leaves to cherish her legacy three daughters; Josephine McKinley, Jahcel Cooper & Ja'net Cooper, five grandchildren-Douglas & Jahshua Pitman, Apple Cooper, Quincy Wise & Layla Wing; she also leaves to cherish five brothers- Richard Brown(Mirella), Kendall Brown, Roderick(Roberta), Joseph Brown & John Brown; four sisters Wanda Brown-Benton, Priscilla Brown-Logan, Sarah Brown & Zandra Brown.

She also leaves a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts & uncles. She was predeceased in death by her Father - Richard Brown, Mother -Josie Mae Jackson Brown, Fraternal grandparents - Richard Moore & Priscilla Brown Clark, maternal grandparents - Wilbert Jackson & Josephine McMillian Bellamy

We will truly miss Sharon's love, her contagious laughter & magnetic smile, her legacy will be remembered forever!

It is with οΏΌdeep sadness to post the loss of our classmate, Sherry McDermott. Our sincerest sympathy to her family and friends.

Sherry L. Earnest, 69, of Bridgeton passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at her home.
Sherry was born in Bridgeton, to the late William McDermott, Jr. and Netta M. Gibbons McDermott. She was the wife of the late Gary T. Earnest, Sr. until his passing in 2018. Sherry had been a lifetime Bridgeton resident and graduate of Bridgeton High School Class of 1974. She was most recently employed by the Seabrook House in Upper Deerfield and prior to that she had worked for Bridgeton Hospital and Inspira Medical Center for over 20 years.

Sherry loved her grandchildren and that's what she lived for, as they were her world. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing with her grandchildren and doing scratch off lottery tickets. She also loved to go camping, cruising around in her 2000 convertible, listening to the Eagles band, cleaning, cooking and watching the Philadelphia Eagles.

She is survived by; sons, Gary T. Earnest, Jr. (Amy) of West Chester, PA. and Brian M. Earnest (Denita) of Bridgeton; grandchildren, Cameron, Islah, Avery and Bryana; siblings, William McDermott III (Debra) of Hopewell and Kevin "Wolfie" McDermott of Bridgeton; and sisters in-law, Lynda, Anna, Denise and Peggy. She was preceded in death by; husband, Gary T. Earnest, Sr.; parents, William, Jr. and Netta McDermott; brothers, Michael McDermott and Patrick McDermott; brother in-law, Johnny Earnest (Bernie); mother in-law, Rose Earnest; and father in-law, John Earnest, Sr.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 27th, at 11 AM at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the service. Written condolences can be sent to the family through the funeral home website www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.

With sadness we send our sincere condolences to Richard’s family.

Richard E. Jester, Sr., 70, passed on February 7, 2026 at Jefferson Hospital in Washington Township and was called home to be with his Heavenly Father.

Richard leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Lori and son, Richard Jr. and daughter in law, Diane. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Deiter. He was predeceased by his mother Dorotha and father Richard Jester.

Richard led an interesting life, he was the first trained EMT in his home town of Bridgeton NJ, as well as a member of the local rescue squad that was then located on Cohansey Street in Bridgeton. He also worked for what is now Inspira Medical Center but was at one time Bridgeton Hospital where he dedicated 43 years of his life to working security detail.
His favorite vacation place was Nashville, TN and favorite color was blue. Richard was a dedicated husband and father. He will be missed by his best friend and son Richard Jester, Jr.

Dora J. Salgado, 69, of Runnemede, NJ, passed away on September 28, 2025.

Beloved wife of the late Jesus "Jay" Salgado. Devoted mother of Jay Salgado, Tina Salgado (Britney), and Renee Randles (Robert. Loving "mom-mom" of Robert Jr., Rebecca, Rease, Jaydan, Emma and Ava. Dear sister of Christopher Crumb (Hope) and Shirley Weinberg (Jack). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

There will be a viewing from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Centerton Freewill Baptist Church, 110 Dealtown Rd, Elmer, NJ 08318.

Funeral service will begin at 12:00pm.

Interment to follow at Centerton Freewill Baptist Cemetery.

Dina L. McLeod (nee C***a), 70, of Millville passed away Saturday morning, January 10, 2026 at her brother’s home in Bridgeton.

She was born on December 31, 1955 in Metz, France to Emilio and Maria DelVicario C***a. As a family, the C***as soon after immigrated to the United States.

In 1974, Dina graduated from Bridgeton High School and went on to attended Washington College in Chestertown, MD where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in International Studies.

Dina spent many years working in the hospitality industry before her retirementβ€”a career that brought her not only pride, but deep joy and lasting friendships. She began at the Showboat Hotel and Casino and later served as a Room Service Manager and Food and Beverage Assistant Manager at the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. Dina had a natural gift for hospitality. She made people feel welcomed, cared for, and valued, and it was through her work that she met many of the lifelong friends who became such an important part of her story.

Dina is survived by her husband, Junior A. McLeod; her brother, Claude V. C***a (Amy Waters) of Bridgeton; niece, Kira C***a and many loving great-nieces and nephews.

Additional survivors include her best-friend, Grace Fuentes; her close friend and caregiver, Amy Waters; her friend, Gina Rubenstein and a host of cousins, sisters, brother-in law and good friends.

At her request, Dina was privately laid to rest at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Millville with her loved ones in attendance.

Memorial contributions in Dina’s name are requested to South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter, 1244 N. Delsea Drive, Vineland, NJ 08361.
