The last two weeks of class brought lots of learning to our co-op community! The younger class continued learning about bees by examining the parts of a beehive, trying on real beekeeper suits, and making beeswax candles. Our older class continued their study of plants; each student created a plant journal explaining what plants need to grow, their life-cycle, elements of soil, parts of a plant, and how seeds spread.

Home stretch of co-op has commenced! Our final month of class kicked off with our younger kids learning about bees and wasps; they used balloons and confetti to learn how bees pick up pollen and about the differences between the two insects. Our older class studied seed plants, utilizing beans to illustrate their life cycle and chart plant growth. Some perfect topics for Spring!

Join us next Saturday, May 2nd for St. John's Lutheran Church- Bridgeport, WV annual plant sale! Unique varieties, baked goods, and a kids corner where kids can paint a flower pot and plant an annual to gift mom for Mother’s Day! Some of our co-op kiddos will be there, so stop by and say hello! We hope to see you!

Two weeks away! We will have many unusual varieties of perennial plants,as well as lots of garden favorites, to beautify your yard. Friendly, knowledgeable gardeners will be on hand to answer questions. Hope to see you there!

On Friday, our older class learned about Congress and then became the House and the Senate, working to pass some bills into law! Plenty of debate was had!
