M.S in Technology Management (MS-T.M.) will be offering a new concentration called “Information & Cyber Security Management.”

The School will be offering a unique, interdisciplinary program in information, data & cyber security that provides a focus both on the technical and/or management disciplines in cyber security.

The M.S. in Technology Management degree requires a minimum of 34 credits, which are comprised of seven core courses. These include courses such as total quality management, technical writing and communications, project management, business/technology capstone and others. Each student must also select an elective concentration that consists of three courses from seven popular and industry in-demand choices listed on the M.S.-TM link below. Other exciting concentrations are also available through other UB departments and schools. The UB Schools of Business, Engineering, and Design work closely and synergistically together for the benefit of the students. A growing population of engineering and science graduates would like to differentiate themselves by pursuing graduate management degrees such as an M.S. in Technology Management or MBA or equivalent. The M.S. in Technology is innovative since it focuses on three major competencies: (1) Management, leadership, people and team building skills, (2) Business, industry, process, functional and analysis skills and (3) technical and engineering skills. Typical MBA degrees focus on two key skills listed as (1) and (2) above. Graduates with traditional undergraduate business, commerce or equivalent backgrounds would increase their technical, quantitative and analytical skills via an M.S.-TM degree.

The Technology Management Master’s Program is designed to develop leaders adept at managing technological change, and skilled in establishing and maintaining superior competitive advantage for their respective enterprises or for new ventures. For an enterprise, continuing advancement of technology provides both opportunities and threats.

It is essential that an enterprise continually develops, sources and/or applies, the latest relevant technology in products, services, and systems in support of the key business functions and processes such as R&D, marketing, sales, customer service engineering, manufacturing, operations, finance, accounting, distribution, information technology, business analytics and others.

The UB Technology Management Program is specifically designed to develop skills and competencies such as:

Identifying and evaluating the impact of rapidly changing technology and managing those changes.
Designing programs to identify, develop and implement innovative technological based solutions for enterprises.
Managing the effective planning and ex*****on of those technology based initiatives and the integration of their results into the mainstream of an enterprises’ strategy, processes and operations.
The application of technology to create wealth by developing new products and launching new businesses.

M.S. in Technology Management or MBA or equivalent. The M.S. in Technology Management is innovative since it focuses on three major competencies: (1) Management, leadership, people and team building skills, (2) Business, industry, process, functional and analysis skills and (3) Technical and engineering skills.

Other exciting concentrations are also available through other UB departments and schools. The UB Schools of Business, Engineering and Design work closely and synergistically together for the benefit of the students. Therefore, students are able to take advantage of the interdisciplinary education so highly demanded by industry.
