Rusty reached out to Joe Flynn to check on him….
Here is Joe’s response….
Hi all,
Thanks for touching base. Things are OK here. After the cease fire was announced, things started going back to normal in schools and the Church, and there were no intercepts of drones or missiles for a while. After the US announced that they would start escorting vessels through the strait, there was a resumption of missiles and drones coming to the UAE. Now both sides continue to fire at various targets but not as much as before. Some incoming drones and missiles were sent to Fujairah, which is a port on the Indian Ocean where the UAE hoped to ship oil without going through the strait, but the other guys seem to want to close all oil shipments from the region until there is an agreement.
So... now Abu Dhabi is not being threatened at the moment but schools and catechism (Sunday School) are online, which stinks for the kids.
Let's continue to pray for an agreement that will lead to peace. While we experience direct threats here, the impact is world wide. Friends from India say there is not enough fertilizer for next year's crops; friends from the Philippines say that their gas prices have doubled and there is a shortage. Of course, my kids in the US talk about the gas prices and inflation there.
Take care,
Joe
