On social media in the last week you may have seen that the Texas Education Agency (TEA) released evaluations on every district in Texas. They looked at student achievement, school progress and “closing gaps” in education disparity.

Bridgeport ISD jumped up at least one grade in every category- in some cases improvement scores were in the double digits, changing our overall letter grade from a 66-D, to a 74-C.

This means Bridgeport has staff and students on a fast moving, upward trajectory - and WE ARE NOT STOPPING HERE! For more information, go to txschools.gov to look up your child’s campus results.

Legendary soccer player Pele stated that “Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing”. This step towards success is 100% the result of our students learning, studying and their sacrifice, coupled with our teachers' hard work, perseverance and unconquerable love of what they do.

The weather isn’t the only thing hitting the triple digits around here.

We are proud to announce that Bridgeport ISD received an ‘A’ rating and a perfect score of 100 on the Texas Education Agency’s Schools FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas) accountability system! 🌟

This rating represents "Superior Achievement"—the highest possible grade given by the state.

What does this mean for our community?

✅ Sound financial management and fiscal responsibility
✅ Transparent use of local taxpayer dollars
✅ Ensuring maximum resources go directly toward classroom learning and student success.

BMS: Did you know that between K-12th grade, your child will spend roughly 14,000 hours at school?

This is why PTO is so important- it’s the bridge between school and home. Studies (conducted by very smart people who probably had parents participating in school organizations) show that kids who have involved families get better grades, attend class more often and graduate more than their peers (Plus, we think you’ll have fun doing it).

Join us from 3:45 - 4:45 at Bridgeport Middle School for a PTO meeting on Tuesday, August 18th.

Volunteer big or small- or just listen in and keep up with what’s going on.

📍 Location: Alternative Learning Center (1101 17th St., Bridgeport)
📝 What to bring: Please bring Driver's License, Social Security Card, Transcripts, a pen and paper/pencil with you for notes.
