This is an opportunity to make a real difference by teaching students hands-on construction skills and preparing them for careers in the skilled trades.

If you have construction experience and have ever thought about using your knowledge to teach the next generation, we would love to hear from you. Teaching experience may not be the only pathway into the classroom industry experience can be extremely valuable in Career Technical Education.

Our students are ready to learn, and we need the right person in the classroom as soon as possible.

Please share this post, especially with contractors, carpenters, builders, construction companies, and anyone you know who may be interested in taking their experience from the jobsite to the classroom.

Help us find the person who can build more than projects help us find someone who can help build our students’ futures!

Today, Escambia County Schools educators came together at Flomaton High School for our Back to School Summit, kicking off the new school year with a day full of learning, collaboration, and professional growth.

We were proud to have ECRC Microsoft Imagine Academy instructor Ms. Robin Brown leading a workshop on Microsoft 365, equipping teachers with valuable technology tools to use in the classroom. Our CTE Director Dr. West facilitated CTE 1, 2, 3, providing important information and resources for our Career and Technical Education programs.

In addition to these sessions, participants had the opportunity to choose from many other outstanding workshops designed to help educators sharpen their skills and prepare for a successful 2026–2027 school year.

Thank you to everyone who helped plan, present, and participate in today’s summit. Investing in our educators is an investment in our students, and we’re excited for another great year in Escambia County Schools.

This afternoon our team had the opportunity to tour the Provalus office right here in Brewton.

We learned about the exciting career opportunities available in the technology industry, saw firsthand how Provalus is creating high quality jobs in our community, and gained valuable insight into the skills students need to succeed in today’s workforce.

A huge thank you to the Provalus team for welcoming us, sharing your story, and showing us how innovation and opportunity are thriving in rural Alabama. Experiences like this help us better prepare our students for the careers of tomorrow while strengthening the connection between education and industry.

We even had the opportunity to go down the slide.

We appreciate your hospitality and look forward to continuing our partnership!

This morning our team stepped away from the classroom for a little team building and headed to the Brewton Public Library for a fun introduction to Mah Jongg!

Learning something new together reminded us that teamwork, communication, problem solving, and a willingness to keep learning are valuable skills both in and out of the workplace. We had a great time laughing, learning the game, and enjoying time together as a team.

A big thank you to the Brewton Public Library, PJ Lovelace, Julie Rabern, Adriane Johnson, and Valissa Burnham for welcoming us and teaching us the basics of Mah Jongg. We appreciate the opportunity and had a wonderful time!
