Meet the Teacher: Cate Van Gelder!

As the founder and lead educator at Mid Cape Montessori, Cate brings a unique combination of Montessori education, leadership, and a deep commitment to creating an environment where every child can thrive.

With a degree from Mount Holyoke and experience across both traditional and alternative education settings, Cate is passionate about meeting students where they are. Her approach centers around inclusive, experiential learning that celebrates individuality, supports neurodivergent learners, and helps children build independence and confidence.

For Cate, education isn’t about asking every child to learn the same way, it’s about creating an environment where they feel seen, supported, challenged, and excited to learn. 💙

Meet the Teacher: Beth Priddy!

Beth brings a wealth of experience, warmth, and a deep commitment to inclusive education to the Mid Cape Montessori community.

A graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a concentration in middle school teaching, Beth has experience in both general education and student support roles. They have a particular strength in supporting neurodivergent students, English language learners, and children with a wide range of emotional and academic needs.

In the classroom, Beth is known for their calm, collaborative approach and for meeting each student where they are. Their teaching style blends structure with creativity while honoring each child’s individual pace, interests, and strengths.

Beth’s approach fits beautifully with our mission at Mid Cape Montessori: nurturing independence, confidence, curiosity, and the whole child. 💙

If you're having doubts about your current school plan, you don't have to wait until the middle of the year to make a change.

Starting at the beginning of the school year allows children to settle into routines, build friendships, and grow alongside their classmates from day one. Making the transition early can help create a smoother, more positive experience for everyone.
