When we talk about building resilient communities, our food systems are an important part of the conversation!

Choosing locally grown produce is a simple yet impactful way to drive positive economic and environmental change.

Here is what happens when you shop at a local farm or farmers' market:
💵 Money spent at local farms and farmers' markets stays within the community, fostering economic stability and supporting small businesses.
🍅 Traditional supply chains require produce to travel long distances, depleting its nutritional value over time. Local fruits and veggies are harvested at peak ripeness and sold fresh—meaning they are packed with more nutrients and taste way better!
🚜 Local farmers are heavily invested in keeping their land healthy, meaning more sustainable practices and fewer pesticides. Plus, long shipping routes are cut out, decreasing the carbon footprint from transportation, packaging and refrigeration.

💝 Investing in local agriculture isn't just a healthy diet choice—it’s a direct investment in our local economy!
