Rick Eldridge ’76 and his daughter, Kasey Eldridge Brennan ’04, may have attended Brevard College in different decades, but both found a place that helped shape their futures. From Rick’s beginnings in music, film, and storytelling to Kasey’s journey through writing, soccer, and entrepreneurship, their shared BC connection is a powerful example of the lasting impact of the Brevard College experience.

On Saturday, April 18, we celebrated Alumni Day here on campus. Charlie Holt ’74 shared what the weekend was like:
“A beautiful few days filled with connection, memories, and everything that makes BC special. From reconnecting with old friends to walking campus and reminiscing by Kings Creek, it was the perfect reminder of how meaningful this place is.
The weekend was packed in the best way, with tennis matches, senior art exhibits with incredible talent on display, lacrosse and baseball games, and a standout performance of The Mad Ones at the Porter Center. Along the way, there were plenty of conversations with students preparing for exams and graduation, making it all feel full circle.
Spring in Brevard truly showed off, and it made for an unforgettable Alumni Day. If you missed it, we hope you will join us next time. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for Homecoming, October 16 to 18.”

Lynne’s presence on this campus was steady, thoughtful, and deeply felt. She had a way of making people feel welcomed and valued—whether through quiet conversations, shared traditions, or her work behind the scenes to support students and colleagues alike. That spirit will be reflected in this time of remembrance.
All who knew Lynne, and those whose lives were touched by her in ways big or small, are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brevard College (One Brevard College Drive, Brevard, NC 28712) in support of a forthcoming outdoor campus project honoring Lynne’s memory.

We join in remembering and celebrating the life of Lynne Caudle Joyce (1959~2026), whose impact on Brevard College and the broader community will be felt for generations.
A devoted leader, mentor, and friend, Lynne spent more than four decades in higher education, including her time as First Lady of Brevard College from 2012 to 2021. She brought a rare combination of warmth, vision, and dedication to every corner of campus—supporting students, guiding faculty and staff, and helping shape both the culture and the physical spaces we call home.
From her work in leadership development and executive coaching to her role in campus traditions and gatherings, Lynne had a gift for making people feel seen, supported, and inspired. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and in the community she helped strengthen.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Joyce family and all who knew and loved her. 💙
Please join us for a celebration of Lynne’s life on April 26th, 2026, in the Paul Porter Center for Performing Arts. Doors open at noon, and the service will begin at 1:30pm in Scott Concert Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Brevard College (One Brevard College Drive, Brevard, NC 28712) in support of a forthcoming outdoor campus project honoring Lynne’s memory and celebrating her many contributions to both the College and the community of Brevard.
