We are in the market for a porta cooler fan for our show steers this summer. This 85 degree weather is hard on these guys, even in the barn and fans running. If anyone has a reasonable priced unit or wants to donate one (tax write-off!), let us know!

Need some beautiful plants in your life? Our Brevard FFA Greenhouse has just what you need!
Stop by during school hours (Monday—Friday, 8am—3pm) or visit us on Saturday mornings from 10am—12pm. We also have a stand at the Transylvania County Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings!
Students delivered their first spring calf of the year last night at the farm. He’s a big bull calf from an artificial insemination performed by students last year in the Vet Assisting class. Thankful for good cows and devoted students!
We had a special treat today at Brevard High School. Dwight Parker from Blue Ridge Border Collies brought some of his working dogs and livestock to do a demonstration of herding. Dwight has won on the national level with his dogs and was kind enough to share his training successes with students this morning. What a memorable experience!
We are thankful & excited to have received this tractor from the Shipman family and Randy & Dorothy Houck this week as a project for our Ag Mechanic students. Mr. Tom Shipman passed away this past year and he wanted this older model Oliver tractor to be used for students to learn and grow in their agriculture skills. They will do some mechanical work to prepare the tractor to help with our spring harvest of the first cutting of hay. As you can tell from the video, our students were excited for its arrival this week. We are so thankful for the relationships we have in our community with our local farmers.

We are so proud of Mr. Harris and his students in his horticulture class. They were on a walk to identify trees and plants when they spotted an elderly lady on fire from an ash tray. They acted quickly and were able to get the fire out and call 911. Thanks to their bravery and quick actions, they saved her life.
All 14 of our goat kids are growing, thriving, and bouncing with joy during their daily turnout time on pretty days! If you are near the FFA farm, you’ll see them at the front of the farm, usually watching the BHS lady devils softball team practice in the afternoon!
