We’re still swooning over the absolutely lovely production of Charlotte’s Web our students brought to life with the help of drama instructor Matt Durt. 🕸️💛

From the costumes and performances to the laughter, tenderness, and confidence that filled the stage, it was one of those evenings that reminded us just how much beauty lives inside creative community experiences like these.

Watching students step into new roles, support one another, and shine in their own unique ways is always something special — and this performance was no exception.

A heartfelt thank you to Matt Durt for sharing his time, creativity, and guidance with our students, and to all the families and community members who came out to support the show.

The Raccoons returned from their camping trip a little muddier, a little more tired… and a whole lot more grown. 🌿

Over the course of just a few days, we watched students problem-solve through peace talks, pack up camp with newfound independence, support one another through homesickness, and carry each day with incredible Positive Mental Attitudes.

These trips ask so much of our students — resilience, flexibility, teamwork, courage — and every single year, they rise to meet it in beautiful ways.

From identifying over 40 species of trees at Joyce Kilmer to singing around the campfire, whittling, river play, poetry at Huckleberry K**b, volleyball games, pink pony club singalongs, and spotting thousands of crickets… this trip was filled with the kinds of memories that stay with you for a long time.

We’re so proud of this crew and all the ways they continue to grow. 💛

The Monarch Class has been out in the world… and growing in all the ways that matter.

Their recent trip to Joyce Kilmer was filled with old-growth trees, wildflowers, and wide-open views — but what stood out most was the way these students showed up for one another. From practicing independence to supporting friends through challenges, it was the kind of growth you can’t replicate in a classroom.

These experiences don’t happen without community. We’re so grateful for the parent volunteers who make trips like this possible — your support truly makes a difference.

And it doesn’t stop there…
Next up: a visit to The Outdoor Academy’s student-run Spanish Market, followed by a hands-on trip to Casa Mexicana where students will practice ordering, speaking, and navigating real-world experiences with confidence.

This is learning that sticks — rooted in connection, courage, and doing.
