Camps Kahdalea & Chosatonga

Our theme for Summer 2026: Embracing Challenge touches on Jesus' teachings in John 16:33: "I have said this to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

As we shared this verse with our campers at opening campfire, we invited them to think of the ways they could make progress toward embracing challenge these next three weeks. We are so grateful to have each camper here at CKC, and we couldn't be more excited to watch them push themselves and take each challenge they encounter with grit and determination.

At Camp Kahdalea and Camp Chosatonga, every day is an opportunity to “Be the One.” Whether it’s offering encouragement to a cabinmate, lending a helping hand without being asked, or choosing kindness in the small moments, campers learn that true leadership begins with serving others.

Inspired by the words of Mother Teresa, our second core value, “Be the one,” is a call to live with compassion, courage, and purpose. It means stepping forward when someone needs support, putting others before yourself, and recognizing that God can work through even the simplest acts of love and service.

Here, campers discover that being “the one” can look like cheering on a friend at the climbing wall, helping clean up after a meal, or welcoming someone who feels alone. Through these moments, they grow in confidence, character, and faith – learning that when we serve others, we become part of something far greater than ourselves.
