🍂 Fall in Nashville is full of adventures, and the best ones sneak in some learning too!

📖 Southern Festival of Books (Oct. 17–18): Free for all ages at Bicentennial Mall, the Tennessee State Museum, and the State Library. Meet an author and pick out a new favorite.
🎈 Fall Kids Fest (Oct. 17, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.): Trick-or-treating, inflatables, pumpkin decorating, and a costume parade at The Avenue in Murfreesboro.
🦁 Boo at the Zoo (starts Oct. 16): Trick-or-treating, costumed characters, and animal shows. Book ahead!
👻 Haunted Museum Storytelling Festival (Oct. 24): Spooky stories at the Tennessee State Museum.
🎃 PumpkinFest (Oct. 24–25): Fall fun in Downtown Franklin.
💀 Día de los Mu***os with Nashville Ballet (Oct. 28–Nov. 1): A colorful show at the Martin Center.

✏️ Bonus: Turn any outing into a story! Ask your kids to draw or write about their favorite part when you get home.

🍂 Fall is here, and so is our Fall Reading List!

At Hoover Learning Group, we love using seasonal stories to spark curiosity, build vocabulary, and connect reading to the world outside the window.

We’ve rounded up 15 favorite fall books for every age:

Student Spotlight: Zachary Robus 🌟

This week we're celebrating Zachary, one of our Davidson Academy students who has been working with Mrs. Vicki. Over the past few weeks, he's shown up ready to learn, put in steady effort, and it's paying off. Today he completed a dictation sentence with 100% accuracy!

Progress like this doesn't happen overnight. It comes from practice, patience, and a willingness to keep trying, and Zachary has shown all three. We're so proud of you, Zachary. Keep up the great work! 👏

🍂 Fall in Nashville is full of adventures, and some of the best ones double as learning moments.

Our family fall guide is here! A few favorites:
📚 Cheekwood Harvest (through Nov. 1): Walk the storybook scarecrow trail, then come home and read the books you spotted along the way.
🎭 Free library programs: Puppet shows, a dinosaur weekend, even archaeology at the Parthenon. The Nashville Public Library calendar is packed with hidden gems that cost nothing.
🎃 Pumpkin patches: Lucky Ladd Farms, Honeysuckle Hill Farm, and the Nashville Fall Festival in Bellevue are made for little ones.

✏️ Bonus idea: Turn your pumpkin patch trip into a learning adventure! Guess how much each pumpkin weighs, count the seeds, line them up from smallest to biggest, and write or draw about the day when you get home.
