🚜 🌾 How can thoughtful farm design help protect crops, improve efficiency, and strengthen food safety?

Join UNH Extension on October 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Barker's Farm in Stratham for an on-farm workshop focused on safe produce handling and flood mitigation strategies.

Participants will tour the farm to explore how drainage systems, field roads, and other water-management practices can reduce flood impacts while protecting soil and crop safety. The workshop will also cover practical wash-pack and food safety strategies, including produce-handling workflows, standard operating procedures, waste management, and cross-contamination prevention.

A representative from the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will discuss available technical assistance opportunities.

The workshop is geared toward beginning farmers, but all are welcome. There is no cost to attend, but registration is appreciated.
