Attention Bristow Artists. The Lion’s Club of Brentwood is hosting an Art contest. If you are interested in details about the contest, please come see Mrs. Slay in room 21. There are rules that must be followed. All entries are due on Friday, October 16th.

Art Club is canceled on Tuesday, September 8th. Mrs. Slay has a meeting. See you on Tuesday, September 15th right after school.

Constant notifications and switching between apps can make it harder to stay focused. Try putting your phone away during homework or when you're with your friends and see how much more you can accomplish and how much more fun you have. Be present! Love, PE

Great day Bristow Bears, Today is the first day for our Coding Club. Just for today, join us in Room 24 from 1:45 to 2:45pm. If you haven't turned in your signed forms don't forget to bring it with you. Also, make sure to bring your laptop. See you all there!

Morning Announcements for August 31, 2026

Attention all 8th graders, our first TUPE club meeting will be on Tuesday September 1st in room 12. If you remember the break out boxes in 6th grade or the messaging around campus about the harmful effects of va**ng, we are that club. Join us and learn how to protect yourself and your friends against the harmful effects of va**ng and to***co, you can earn service hours, and become a good public speaker while making a big impact on the school. Plus, there are snacks! We meet the first Tuesday of the month in Room 12 during lunch and you need to attend the first meeting to get the paperwork for our all day training.

August 31 is recognized as International Overdose Awareness Day the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose, remember those we have lost to an overdose, acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind, and renew our commitment to end overdose and related harms.

The library will be closed during 6th grade lunch on Mondays.

The first book club meeting for 7th graders is in the library today during lunch. Anyone interested in joining, please grab your lunch and bring it to the library.

Can you go screen-free for just 30 minutes today? Put down your phone, step away from the TV, and head outside! Play a sport, ride your bike, take a walk, or just enjoy some fresh air with friends. Give your eyes a break, get your body moving, and see what you can do without a screen! Love, PE

Interested in Coding? Want to use AI to code your own favorite games and apps? Bring your laptop and join us starting this Wed after school in Mrs. Slay's classroom from 1:45 to 2:45pm. Those that collected the signup forms last week, please give the filled out form to Mr. PI during lunch or bring it to the club meeting on Wednesday. If you need the signup form, reach out to Mr. PI during lunch.
