What a perspective. 🤯

This was our view of Venus moments before the Moon passed in front of it during last week's occultation.

The process behind the photo is also quite amazing!

Stay tuned—we will have more to share about this celestial disappearing act soon.

Summer arrives this Sunday! ☀️

That's right. The summer solstice is on Sunday and marks the moment when the Northern Hemisphere receives its maximum amount of daylight as Earth reaches a particular point in its orbit around the Sun.

Here in Middle Tennessee, we'll enjoy nearly 15 hours of daylight.

That means more time outside, later sunsets and a reminder to slow down and enjoy a few extra hours of summer.

How will you spend the longest day of the year?

Dr. Billy had a clear shot of the Jupiter-Venus conjunction this week! 🤩

Fun fact: the planets look pretty close in the night sky, but they are actually separated by hundreds of millions of miles.

Has anyone else snapped any dazzling photos of the conjunction?

A front-row seat to Jupiter! 🔭

Using Dyer's Seyfert Telescope last month, we captured footage of a double shadow transit, when two of Jupiter's moons cast their shadows across the planet at the same time.

Womp womp... once again the clouds have chosen to be the main character. ☁️

With heavy cloud coverage expected tonight, we're canceling this evening's event.

The good news? More Star Parties are on the calendar, and we're not giving up that easily.

See you soon!
