Progress — we’re finishing this week with so much accomplished. Thank you to our students for working hard and working smart. This is exactly why we do what we do.

Our Green Group has been training fouettés, one of the most challenging skills in ballet. And it doesn’t scare us. We show up, we support, and we inspire our dancers every step of the way.

🦋As Dolly Parton says, don’t wish your life away — stay present, stay grateful, and keep building your future one disciplined day at a time. That’s what our dancers are learning: growth comes from showing up, not rushing the journey.

So much pride in the dedication, discipline, and heart inside our studios.

Balloné is a ballet step where the dancer springs lightly into the air from a fondu, creating a soft, buoyant quality. This week, Mr. Nicolas has been focusing with every level and class on turnout and strengthening the legs correctly, building the foundation needed for steps like balloné and so much more.

Ballet shapes the muscles and legs in a very specific way — both in how they work and how they look. At NSDA, we strive for a balance of strength and technique, always prioritizing correct placement over flashy skills. Less is more when the technique is right.

Our goal is to develop dancers with longevity, artistry, and classical discipline — dancers who will grow for years to come.

Our Pink Group is working hard on saut de basque and mastering their diagonal pirouettes — this is the caliber of training we’re proud to offer at NSDA. Mr. Nicolas is challenging our dancers not only technically, but also in their artistry and transitions, shaping confident performers from the inside out.
