We’re taking on the Texas Department of Agriculture Local Foods Challenge this month with a deliciously pink twist! 💗

Our students are enjoying local strawberry milk while we support the farmers and producers who help bring fresh, local foods to our schools. 🥛🍓

And because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re turning our milk pink to show our support for those affected by breast cancer. 🎀

🍊 Making Every Bite Count at Brenham ISD ! 🍊

Texas A&M University - Department of Nutrition Dietetic Intern, Brooke, recently conducted a Plate Waste Study on orange slices and discovered that only 35% of students are finishing their oranges completely.

We need your help to reduce food waste! 🍽️ You can support our efforts by encouraging your students to only select the healthy foods they enjoy in the cafeteria, without feeling pressured to take items they won't consume.

This morning, our Texas A&M University Dietetic Intern, Brooke, created delicious strawberry-banana smoothies for students at Krause Elementary School to sample!

The verdict? A total hit! 🙌 We’re excited to continue to test this item across the district and possibly add to our menu in the future!
